My summary:
Nastasya is an immortal, currently she lives in London with some of her immortal friends. They live the "good life" just going from one party to the next, having fun. One day her best friend does something so terrible that it scares Nastasya, she's no angel herself but this thing really scared her. Without knowing why she feels so scared, she get the feeling that it is urgent for her to get away without any of her friends knowing where she went. Nastasya ends up in USA on an organic farm owned by of an immortal called River, a lady she met about 80 years earlier. At River's place Nastasya meets Reyn, he seems so familiar but claims that he have never seen her before in his life.
My thoughts:
Immortal Beloved was such a brilliant start to something I believe will be an excellent trilogy. I struggled for the first 50 pages or so but after that I was completely hooked. I mean if I didn't have my nose in the book I was thinking about the characters in it longing to pick up the book and continue with the story. It was fun, sad and action packed all at once.
The setting is very original I mean how many of us have read a paranormal romance/urban fantasy set on an organic farm before? The setting might sound a bit weird but it worked unexpectedly well I must say. The peaceful and simple life was such a great contrast to Nastasya's painful memories. The memories comes in small glimpses and takes the reader several hundred years back in time, to be more precise the 1550's in Iceland.
The only negative thing I can think of was that at times Nastasya's way of speaking seemed a little forced, a little to youthful to feel realistic to me. Other than that the flow of the writing is good and Nastasya is a great main character.
I finished the book three days ago and I still think about it and I'm pining for the sequel, Immortal Darkness!
Many thanks to the people at Hodder & Stoughton Ltd for sending me a review copy.

I LOVED this book too! I just finished it this weekend, mostly because I could not put it down once I started it. I cannot wait for the second book in this series...but I guess I'll have to!
