Bookish delights in May 2015

Are you ready to check out the May releases on my wish list? Please do share your own anticipated reads in the comments. I am always scouting for great young adult novels.

In my bookish delight posts are books I feel might be worth reading. That being said I do not know when, or if I ever, get to these books. Life is full of great books, but time is too short to read them all. I will not be pestering you with long synopsis, I have just added some keywords that might inspire you to find out more about the books on your own.

May 12th:

5 to 1 by Holly Badger:

India year 2054, five boys for every girl, alternating between prose and verse, a new country is formed, nobody's wife.

May 14th:

Read me like a book by Liz Kessler:

All consuming love, feelings not for boyfriend but for English teacher Miss Murray.

May 19th:
Three day summer by Sarvenaz Tash:

Boy, unsure of future, big concert, volunteer, good girl, lovestory.

Hold me like a breath by Tiffany Schmidt:

Black market, organ transplants, no one is safe, crime families, autoimmune disorder.

What is on your May wishlist?

I was surprised to see how short my wish list was this month. There are sure to be some goodies out there that I have missed. In one way that is good, if I had no other books to read it would be a realistic assumption that I could read these three books in May. Alas my book shelf is full, as well as my Audible library and Kindle. So I'll wait and see, but I do really want to read these three.

These are all books I think sounds like they might be worth reading, but I do not know when or if I get to all of these books.

I will not be pestering you with long synopsis, I have just added some keywords as to some of the books content. I think thriller/mystery is very much the IT thing in YA these days and this fall is no exception.

August 1:

Cruel Summer by James Dawson:

- Suicide, friends, murder, thriller, Spain!


The Sound by Sarah Alderson:

- Dark secrets, falling in love, music and blogging(I do love a good in a book blogger LOL).

Gated by Amy Christine Parker:

- People have moved to escape the world after 9/11, now the end of the world draws nigh! An underground hideout, a chosen few. Making your own choices. Love.

Wise Young Fool by Sean Beaudoin:

- Music, juvenile detention, parents splitting up, male protagonist, emotionally scarred and the book is being promoted as hilarious.


Second Impact by David Klass, Perri Klass:

- Written by brother/sister duo Klass, action, redemption  boy/girl teaming up to blog about the upcoming football season from two perspectives. Sounds AWEEESOME.

Justice for Sara by Erica Spindler:

- Main character is a murder suspect, sister killed, fast forward 10 years into the future and strange, creepy letters starts showing up. I am so reading this one.


Forgive me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick:

- Today is Leonard's birthday, today he is going to kill his ex-best friend and then he will commit suicide, taboo, saying goodbye.


Between the devil and the deep blue sea by April Genevieve Tucholke:

- Gothic horror/romance, handsome new boy in town deceiving the, literally, girl-next-door and blinding her to strange things that happens.

Defiance by C.J. Redwine:

- No dancing for Rachel, she is going hunting! Father supposedly died on a mission, Rachel sets out to find him and she is being chased by a monster! Looking promising this one is.

Bookish delights coming out in March

Are you ready to add some books to your wishlist? Perhaps you can add some books to my wishlist as well? In this post I'll be sharing the March YA releases I think sounds like they might just be made of awesome. I do not know when or if I get to all of these books, but I do know they all sound so, so very good.

I have just added some keywords at to what the novel is about and a link to Goodreads so you can discover more about these lovelies in peace and quiet.


Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
- a retro, contemporary love story(about first love and how much one might want it to last).  

This is where I add that I am still together with the wonderful boy I fell in love with as a 14 year old girl, we have been a couple since I was 15(I'm turning 30 this summer!). I know it's not for everyone but we fell in love and never looked back. So far we're a proof that it might very well last for some.

Orleans by Sherri L. Smith 

- dystopian, bad hurricanes --> fever, survival, left to bring up someone elses baby.

This is cover eye candy for me and the story sounds like it brings a lot of adventure and suspense to the table.

Flowers in the Sky by Lynne Joseph

- a young adult contemporary about the hardness of moving far from all that is familiar and make a new life for oneself in a new place.

I love, love this cover and the symbolic meaning of it all!

Strands of Bronze and Gold (Strands of Bronze and Gold #1) by Jane Nickerson
- debut novel, historical, fairy tale retelling, rumors, suspense

 Dr. Bird's Advice for Sad Poets by Evan Roskos 
- debut novel, male protagonist, domestic violence, emotional read with a dash of humor.

 Bruised by Sarah Skilton 

- debut novel, self perception, holdup, Tae Kwon Do, who do you think you are, and who are you really?

The Holders by Julianna Scott
- protecting those you love, hearing voices, a legend, forgivness, love

 Trinkets by Kirsten Smith

- shoplifting, addiction, rehab, forming friendship, multiple perspectives

 Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt - want to live the kind of teenage life your grandma did?, sounds like a truck load of fun,chick-litish, cheating bastard of a boyfriend, going over the top?

I am deeply in love with this VINTAGE cover!

 Dear Life, You Suck by Scott Blagden
- debut novel, crime, life down the drain, humor, the main character sounds kind of Holden Caulfield-ish, hope, love.

If I am to judge a book by its synopsis I would have to say that DEAR LIFE, YOU SUCK sounds amhhhhazing. If I were to pick just one of these March lovlies to read I think this would have to be it.

As I scan my list I find it odd that a girl who loves everything fitting under the fantasy genre as much as I do, have so many contemporaries on her list and so few in other genres. Maybe March just isn't THE MONTH for fantasy releases? For me it seems to be a month of books with a similar theme, and that is how much life sucks.
